ABOUT US

High Fiber Diet is a group of fiber artists committed to advancing their art professionally. HFD actively searches for exhibit venues, and members have the opportunity to submit work for juried group exhibitions. High Fiber Diet members challenge themselves to become more educated about art and design principles and to improve creatively on an individual basis. The group meets 7 times per year (February, April, May, July, August, October, and November) on the third Tuesday from 1:30pm – 3:30pm. Venues may change and some meetings are held online. Meetings usually include a discussion topic, updates on current and upcoming exhibits, and sharing of members' current work. For more information about the group, check the HFD blog at www.hfd-highfiberdiet.blogspot.com or contact Pam Pilcher at pilcherpam@gmail.com.

The group is affiliated with Columbia FiberArts Guild of Portland, Oregon

High Fiber Diet Exhibits at Coos Art Museum

News from the Heat Wave Committee

The debut of the HFD's Heat Wave show at the Coos Art Museum was a smashing success! High Fiber Diet had a terrific showing of members who made the trip down to Coos Bay for the opening on December 15, 2017, and were pleasantly surprised by the great number of local viewers who attended the show! Shown in conjunction with the "It's Not Easy being Green" show, the two collections of members' quilts filled the museum's main gallery, beautifully lit and presented in this venue that used to be an elegant old post office. Also celebrating their opening night were two other shows in the museum's other galleries that included watercolors, decorated gourds, and fine woodworking. The Heat Wave committee is grateful to the creative community of Coos Bay, the fine staff of the Coos Art Museum, and HFD's venue committee, especially Diane English who coordinated this venue for us.

Coming up, the Heat Wave show will be traveling next to the Umpqua Valley Arts Association , opening March 16, 2018. Opening night will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on that date. As always, we appreciate all members who are able to attend the openings. Sheryl tells us that this venue puts on a great opening night spread, so we hope to see you there! The address is 1624 West Harvard Avenue in Roseburg.
