High Fiber Diet's Journeys has opened at the Pacific Northwest Quilt and Fiber Arts Museum in LaConner, WA. This lovely three story Victoria home filled to the brim with quilts and other fiber arts makes a wonderful destination if you are wanting an adventure to Washington. Journeys will open at the Pacific Northwest Quilt and Fiber Arts Museum in la Conner, WA October 28-January 31, 2021. We hope some of you may have an opportunity to see it. The exhibit features 23 fiber wall pieces and two 3D pieces by 17 artists. Due to COVID the jurying format was changed from in person to via digital photograph. Ann Johnston and Sidney Snell did a great job of working digitally to curate a wonderful group of pieces that inspire the theme of Journeys.
HFD members are gearing up to design their art for the Can You Hear It? show for 2022. Here is the theme.
Listen…...Can you see that noise? Show us what you hear. Whether it is clattering silverware, a chirping wren, screeching traffic, or a marching band, interpret those sounds in such a way that the viewer can hear them just by looking.
We invite representational and non-representational interpretations for this exciting show which will be visually tied together by a small piece of fabric that will be provided by the exhibition committee and must appear and be visually identifiable in each piece. Since sound travels by waves we chose the fabric Radio Waves by Marcia Derse.
